Based on Nicholas Sparks' bestseller The Lucky One, Zac Efron ("17 Again," "Charlie St. Cloud") stars alongside Taylor Schilling (TV's "Mercy") and Blythe Danner ("Meet the Parents" franchise) in this romantic drama directed by Academy Award(R)-nominated writer/director Scott Hicks ("Shine," "No Reservations").U.S. Marine Sergeant Logan Thibault (Efron) returns from his third tour of duty in Iraq, with the one thing he credits with keeping him alive-a photograph he found of a woman he doesn't even know. Learning her name is Beth (Schilling) and where she lives, he shows up at her door, and ends up taking a job at her family-run local kennel. Despite her initial mistrust and the complications in her life, a romance develops between them, giving Logan hope that Beth could be much more than his good luck charm.
Won premeire tickets to catch the lucky one at GV max Vivo! Watched it with Xincheng.
I feel that the story flows pretty well though certain scenes can be draggy. I am glad that it did not only focus only romance but also the importance of kinship within the family. There are certain humorous scenes which liven up the show. It is amazing on how a photograph kept Logan alive during army and also found true love from there. Oh well, it will be better if there are subtitles!
Zac Efron acted okay here though I thought that he could be more expressive. Taylor Schilling acted pretty good with her given role. I think the one which caught more of my attention was the kid, Riley Thomas Stewart. He is cute and acted well!
Overall, its a heart-warming film!
Thank you GV for the tickets!
