[Preview Screening] Werewolves Within 狼人入侵

After a proposed gas pipeline creates divisions within the small town of Beaverfield, and a snowstorm traps its residents together inside the local holiday lodge, newly arrived forest ranger FINN (Sam Richardson) and postal worker CECILY (Milana Vayntrub) must try to keep the peace and uncover the truth behind a mysterious creature that has begun terrorizing the community.

Attended Werewolves Within 狼人入侵 preview screening at Shaw Theatres Lido. The movie concept was based on a VR game - Werewolves Within. If you play the card game - werewolf before, I think you will agree with me that they are similar in one way or another. Oh yes, I always enjoy being the werewolf in the game because it is definitely more fun and exciting! Oh well, back to the movie review of this film.

The show started with an incident which keep viewers in suspense. After which, the characters are being introduced in the city. The story then start to evolve from there. This is yet another movie about trusting and working together as one.

However, things went haywire when each of them constantly questioning and testing their own personal judgement. It totally keep me in suspense and ponder who exactly the werewolf was. Towards the finale, it revealed who the werewolf was and honestly, I did not suspect this person at all.

He decides to take part in the game. Meanwhile, Cho Sang-Woo (Park Hae-Soo) is like a brother to Seong Gi-Hun and vice versa. They grew up in the same neighborhood. Despite his poor family background, Cho Sang-Woo graduated from a prestigious university and found a good job. He now faces a crisis, due to misappropriation of company funds. He decides to take part in the secret survival game with Seong Gi-Hun.

I've just finished watching the Korean drama- Squid Game. Finally, another 'game' show that I would definitely tune in.

This series reminded me of shows such as Liar Game and Battle Royale. And yes, similar plot like those 'game' series I've watched previously. However, the excitement actually comes from the different game stages in the show.

At times, it is about remaining calm to think and analysis during critical moments. During difficult situation, you just got to persevere and keep it going. A world that is full of greed and selfishness, but thankfully humanity still exists in mankind.

If given a choice, would you choose money over humanity?

[Korean Drama Review] Dark Hole

Dark Hole is about a group of survivors who have to fight for their lives against mutants that are created when humans breathe mysterious dark smoke from a sinkhole.

Recently, I've just finished watching the Korean drama - Dark Hole.

I thought that introductory was nicely developed with a mystery element that was suspenseful. The progression in each episodes led me to ponder and followed them closely as well. However, it's a pity that the entire story-line barely met my expectation.

There are actually good intense and action moments, which kept me at the edge of my seat. Not to miss out, some emotional scenes that was beautifully presented too. It was carefully crafted, as though I am watching a movie.

Kudos to Lee Joon-Hyuk and Kim Ok-Vin acting capabilities. They definitely did well!

[Korean Drama Review] Mouse

A crazed serial killer’s ruthless murders have left the entire nation gripped with fear and chaos reigns. Justice-seeking rookie police officer, Jung Ba Reum, comes face to face with the killer. While he survives his dangerous encounter with the psychopath, Jung Ba Reum finds his life completely changing. A suspenseful story that asks the key question, “What if we could identify psychopaths in advance?"

Had just completed watching this Korean drama - Mouse

The development of its plot was well-thought with a mystery element that was suspenseful. A pity that it got draggy during the mid-episode. This drama got better and exciting on episode 15 where you start to see the main characters involved in the entire case.

I've got to agree that the "gathering of evidence and revealing of hidden truth" moment was definitely epic and kept me at the edge of my seat. The finale turned out to be predictable but it put a good end to it.

Kudos to Lee Seung-Gi and Lee Hee-Jun acting capabilities. They definitely did well!

[Movie Review] My Love 你的婚礼

My Love is a heart-warming film about a 15-year love story between Zhou Xiao Qi (Greg Hsu), a swimming student and You Yong Ci (Zhang Ruo Nan), a transfer student. In high school, Zhou Xiao Qi fell in love with You Yong Ci at first sight, only for her to leave suddenly without saying goodbye. 15 years later, they meet again. Will love be the same?

Watched My Love 你的婚礼 earlier on at GV Plaza.

This romance comedy film reminded me of nostalgic memories I had during high school. A show that was similar to You Are the Apple of My Eye 那些年,我們一起追的女孩 where it journey viewers through first love and youthful ambition.

The show focused on the love story between the 2 leading characters - You Yong Ci 尤咏慈 & 周潇齐 Zhou Xiao Qi. It was nicely depicted with a compact story-line. The humorous and touching scenes are nicely injected as well.

Though both of them lost contact after You Yong Ci 尤咏慈 disappearance to another school, it was fate that allow them to crossed path each time. It was indeed heart-wrenching towards the finale, which totally reminded me of this quote -  "在错的时间遇到对的人". I suppose this pretty much sum up the show.
