Was invited to a media tasting: Ciao@: Family-friendly Italian bar‏!

Here at Ciao@ Singapore is where you can savour quality homespun Italian cuisines. Be tantalised by the aroma wafting through the air, and get whisked away to the rustic sceneries of northern and southern Italy. The restaurant makes an ideal address for gatherings with friends and loved ones. Televisions have been set up, so families can enjoy their meals and catch exciting sports matches at the same time. The bar also boasts a glorious arsenal of premium Italian wines, curated from 21 regions in Italy.

Focaccia Al Rosmarino

This Italian bread is enriched with aromatic olive oil and topped with fresh rosemary and garlic! It was nicely prepared with a good texture that is not too flavourful.

Pizzawich

This dish tasted okay though it could have been better with a thin layer of crust to truly enjoy the ingredients that was stuffed within.

Tartufina

Particularly, I enjoyed this pizza pretty much. The crust was nicely prepared with a aromatic and truffle paste that was evenly spread on its base. It complement pretty well as a whole.

Calamari

Pan-fried Calamari with pine nuts, cherry tomato and olive taggiasche! I like its pillowy texture that was rather appetizing.

Ravioli Di Ricotta

A rather authentic Italian dish that stands on its own. This handmade pasta is stuffed with spinach and ricotta cheese, and then soused in fresh tomato sauce. Surprisingly, it turn out quite good with a this unique combination.

Sughe D’ Magre

This plate of linguine, accompanied with tuna anchovies as well as green olives and then immersed in a pool of tomato sauce, is bound to delight. The texture of its pasta could have been fine-tuned, with a slight savory added for better taste. A dish for the tuna lovers out there!

Stinco Di Maiale Alla Birra

This beer-marinated pork knuckle was nicely prepared with a pretty presentation. I like its tender texture that is easy to munch without any difficulty. It is also served with mashed potato and cabbage. Try it with the cabbage as it gives you a pleasant surprise to your taste bud.
