Media Invite: PUTIEN Presents the Season's Best Seafood Fare

PUTIEN restaurant began as a coffee shop in Singapore’s Kitchener Road in 2000 and has since grown into a popular chain with 24 outlets in Singapore, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia, Shanghai and Taiwan. PUTIEN serves cuisine from the Fujian Province in China: characteristically light, down-to-earth, and flavourful food with an emphasis on fresh ingredients.

 Seaweed with Mini Shrimps

To retain the best texture and nutrition of the seaweed, they use only 15cm-long top-grade seaweed that is harvested within 30 days after cultivation. Every mouth is refreshing with a rather tasty texture!

Braised Pig Intestine

Stir-fried Yam

The yam cubes are beautifully presented with a crisp exterior. Tasty texture because only the middle and best portion of the premium yam are used. A dish that I will order when I visit this restaurant!

Deep fried Pig’s Trotters with Salt & Pepper

Fried Heng Hwa Bee Hoon

Unlike other dried bee hoon, Putien Bee hoon is the only sundried vermicelli milled by hand. Hence, the texture is chewy yet not brittle. The rich and milky stock of pork bones and old hens certainly add more flavour to this dish.

This April to August, PUTIEN shares its wealth of golden-shelled succulent goodness, specially air-flown from Duo Tou Village in the Fujian province of China through PUTIEN Clams Festival.

These seasonal, fresh clams can grow up to 6cm long and are prized for their sweet, delicate and meaty flesh that matches up to a wide variety of flavours. Their natural sweetness and texture are retained even after cooking.

Steamed PUTIEN Clam with Minced Garlic

Nothing will go wrong with bamboo clams, garnished with garlic, spring onion and chillies! Particularly, this is one of my favourite!

 Salted Spicy PUTIEN Clam

Crisp and lightly battered with spring onions and diced chilies! A good snack to begin with.

PUTIEN Clam Omelette

Honestly, the bamboo clam complements quite well with the omelette!

 Steamed PUTIEN Clam with Wine

Clams steamed with the traditional Chinese wine - Huadiao? How interesting? And yes, it tasted rather classic on its own. You got to give this a try!

Stir-fried PUTIEN Clam with Ginger & Spring Onion

Baked PUTIEN Clam served on Hot Plate

Brilliantly prepared with sea salt as the hallmark component of a fresh seafood dish. Honestly, it already so good on its own without the dip of the sea salt. You could taste the natural sweetness of this dish.

PUTIEN Clam Soup with Toufu Meatballs

Chilled Putian Loquat in Herbal Jelly

A light and refreshing dessert. I adore the texture of the herbal jelly that was nicely created. It was  not too sweet nor blend.
