The Truth Seekers 《真 探》 Drama Review

Veteran police officer, Bai Qing Xiong (Chen Han Wei), forms an agency called CCI which aims to crack unsolved cases. Through this agency, he hopes to give a proper closure to family members of the victims. He is a righteous man who is confident that all criminal will not escape the law. The CCI uses unorthodox methods to search for clues which eventually led them to the truth.

Just finished watching The Truth Seekers 《真 探》. Personally, I feel that the story was good and kept me in suspense! In this drama, the detectives were observant and had a good analyzing skills in cracking those unsolved cases.

The different crime cases were nicely presented with an unexpected ending, even though some of it may appear somewhat coincidence and predictable. It got rather interesting when the investigators themselves, were linked to the cases as well. The drama had an unexpected twist towards the finale. The hidden truth was revealed when the evidence just fall into the pieces.

Hope to see more similar genre of drama being aired in channel 8! I am sure to watch it!

Young And Fabulous 最佳伙扮 Movie Review

A coming of age story of a group of teenage friends, who strive against all challenges and obstacles for their dreams. Along the way, they learn about themselves, the meaning of friendships, parent-child/teacher-student relationships and the need to have the courage to stand up for what they believe in.

Watched Young And Fabulous 最佳伙扮 with Gary and Nelson earlier during evening.

Personally, I feel that the film is decent and has a refreshing plot. However, it could have been better if the story has a richer content. There are many touching moments that are nicely injected. Not to forget the many hilarious moments which certainly bring joy to the viewers as well.

People like me who are currently pursuing our passion will definitely relate better. As we gradually grow and get better in our craft each day, I believe we can achieve something that we least expected. Through this film, it also educated viewers to dream big and work on your passion. You never know what may come forth if you did not take a step out to even try.

Fresh Scallop with Silver Fish Salad

A light appetiser that prepares the palette for the gastronomic journey ahead. I adore the crunchiness texture of the silver fish that complements well with the salad.

Rich chicken millet consommé with bamboo pith

This aromatic soup with its steaming fragrance warms the soul. A good to have on a rainy day!

Crispy Chicken in Almond Flakes & Dried Chillies

A good mixture and combination of crispy Chicken with almond flakes. It complements so well that I could not stop having another piece.

Assorted vegetables with shitake mushrooms in truffle oil

A clever fusion of East and West flavours makes this a standout dish.

Stewed Crab Meat Vermicelli

Luvin' the stewed crab meat vermicelli in egg white gravy! It is light and its gravy is not too flavourful for my taste bud.
Add in some vinegar if you prefer a more flavourful taste.

Crispy Yam Roll

Crisp exterior with a rich and warm yam interior. Nice!

[Media Invitation] Uncle Leong Signatures Tasting

Uncle Leong Seafood was founded in a humble and friendly neighbourhood coffee shop located in Ang Mo Kio and has since grown popular with three full-fledge restaurants across Singapore, hauling in customers both local and foreign with their modest quality and reasonable prices.

Located at the newly established Waterway Point mall at Punggol, Uncle Leong Signatures serves their customers the beloved signature Chinese dishes with up-most quality and friendliness, in addition to a little twist.

Celebrate this Father’s Day with a hearty feast at Uncle Leong Signatures! There will be 3 "Hero" menus launching from 1st June to 19th June 2016. Do keep a lookout!

Crispy Milk Granules Marble Goby
奶沙顺壳

The gravy is appetising which complements well with the fish. A pity that the exterior is slightly too crisp for its texture.

 Twin Taste Kai Lan
双味芥兰

The shredded fried Kai Lan will be my pick.

 Cereal Chicken
麦片鸡

Nothing could possibly go wrong with cereal I guess? It was nicely prepared with a tender texture. A good combination indeed.

Nescafe Pork Ribs
传统咖啡排骨

The pork ribs were marinated for at least 4 hours, with a special blend and stewed with aluminum foils to keep the intensity of the flavour.

Treasure Box Beancurd
宝盒豆腐

This may appear simple but it tasted good with the prawns and squid which added flavour to this dish.

Pan Fried Prawns in Tomato Soya Sauce
干煎虾禄

The prawns has a tangy yet sweet flavour. The use of the tomato soya sauce must be the key to this dish.

XO Sauce with Scallops
XO 酱带子

A smart choice of using XO sauce to add an additional fragrance to this dish.

Shimmering Sand Crab
金沙螃蟹

This is definitely the highlight for the night. I adore the buttery and milky sauce which complements well with the crab.
It goes well with man tou too!

Signatures Curry Crab
招牌咖喱螃蟹

The curry tasted rather salty for my taste bud. However, it still goes quite well with the man tou.

Media Invite: PUTIEN Presents the Season's Best Seafood Fare

PUTIEN restaurant began as a coffee shop in Singapore’s Kitchener Road in 2000 and has since grown into a popular chain with 24 outlets in Singapore, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia, Shanghai and Taiwan. PUTIEN serves cuisine from the Fujian Province in China: characteristically light, down-to-earth, and flavourful food with an emphasis on fresh ingredients.

 Seaweed with Mini Shrimps

To retain the best texture and nutrition of the seaweed, they use only 15cm-long top-grade seaweed that is harvested within 30 days after cultivation. Every mouth is refreshing with a rather tasty texture!

Braised Pig Intestine

Stir-fried Yam

The yam cubes are beautifully presented with a crisp exterior. Tasty texture because only the middle and best portion of the premium yam are used. A dish that I will order when I visit this restaurant!

Deep fried Pig’s Trotters with Salt & Pepper

Fried Heng Hwa Bee Hoon

Unlike other dried bee hoon, Putien Bee hoon is the only sundried vermicelli milled by hand. Hence, the texture is chewy yet not brittle. The rich and milky stock of pork bones and old hens certainly add more flavour to this dish.

This April to August, PUTIEN shares its wealth of golden-shelled succulent goodness, specially air-flown from Duo Tou Village in the Fujian province of China through PUTIEN Clams Festival.

These seasonal, fresh clams can grow up to 6cm long and are prized for their sweet, delicate and meaty flesh that matches up to a wide variety of flavours. Their natural sweetness and texture are retained even after cooking.

Steamed PUTIEN Clam with Minced Garlic

Nothing will go wrong with bamboo clams, garnished with garlic, spring onion and chillies! Particularly, this is one of my favourite!

 Salted Spicy PUTIEN Clam

Crisp and lightly battered with spring onions and diced chilies! A good snack to begin with.

PUTIEN Clam Omelette

Honestly, the bamboo clam complements quite well with the omelette!

 Steamed PUTIEN Clam with Wine

Clams steamed with the traditional Chinese wine - Huadiao? How interesting? And yes, it tasted rather classic on its own. You got to give this a try!

Stir-fried PUTIEN Clam with Ginger & Spring Onion

Baked PUTIEN Clam served on Hot Plate

Brilliantly prepared with sea salt as the hallmark component of a fresh seafood dish. Honestly, it already so good on its own without the dip of the sea salt. You could taste the natural sweetness of this dish.

PUTIEN Clam Soup with Toufu Meatballs

Chilled Putian Loquat in Herbal Jelly

A light and refreshing dessert. I adore the texture of the herbal jelly that was nicely created. It was  not too sweet nor blend.

4 Days 3 Nights Krabi Trip

Triple Cheese Toasties

Sunrise Omelette

Our flight time is at around 10.15am. Jiewei and Me reached Changi Airport at 8am. We had our breakfast at Swensen's before entering to the departure hall. The food was decent though I prefer the sunrise omelette over the Triple Cheese Toasties.

We got some time to kill. Hence, we went to the sunflower garden and take pictures.

Here we are! On the way to our desire destination - Krabi!

About an hour later, we reached Krabi airport. We boarded the shuttle bus (150 Baht each) to Holiday Inn Resort Krabi Ao Nang Beach! It took us about an hour to reach the resort.

The usual amenities are provided so you do not have to worry much about that. The room itself comes with a television and a fridge as well.

Honestly, a beautiful resort to relax and appreciate the nature.

We headed Thara Massage for some good Traditional Thai Massage. I will recommend you to visit this place because the massage is pretty good! It was so much better than the one I had at Batam.

Then, we took taxi to Krabi Town night market. It cost us 700 Baht (to and fro). A fun experience taking such open concept taxi.

We did not really tried the food at the night market because my travel pal is not feeling well. Thus, I did not take many photos as well. The fried chicken here are tasty though I prefer the original one.

The next morning, we had our breakfast at Holiday Inn itself. There are many varieties for one to indulge.

After which, we went for island hopping! We bought our tour package at our resort - Ao-Nang Travel and Tour. Nevertheless, it costs more pricey but certainly more safe and convenient for us. Lunch, snack, fruits, water, life jacket, snorkel equipment and insurance are included.

We departed from Railay Beach by Speedboat to Phi Phi islands.

The places we visited includes:
- Phi Phi Ley Island
- Viking Cave
- Pileh Bay
- Loh Samah Bay
- Maya Bay
- Phi Phi Don
- Bamboo island

I did snorkel some moment at Loh Samah Bay. There are many fishes there! A pity I did not take any photos but the experience was quite fun.

I adore Bamboo island the most because it was less crowded. Not to forget, the clear blue water and the many nice photo-taking opportunities.

Headed back to our room. Then, we requested for room service and ordered fish and chips for our dinner. It tasted okay though it could have been better.

Iced Thai Tea

Satay Chicken Wrap

Hot Chocolate

Fresh Toast

The next morning, breakfast was at Cuckoo's Nest Bar & Restaurant. The food tasted reasonably tasty. Particularly, I enjoyed the Satay Chicken Wrap and Iced Thai tea! The fresh toast was okay though it was tad sweet for my taste bud. If you not already know, this was rank 21 in trip advisor.

After that, went swimming. Surprising, it seems that I need some warm up before remembering how to swim? It has been soo.. long since I swim. I remembered I was so much better in swimming in the past.

Lunch was at May & Zin Restaurant! The food was good with an affordable price. If you not already know, this was rank 5 in trip advisor!

We had our dinner at Wang Sai Seafood restaurant. All in all, the food was okay. However, the service was pretty slow. I adore the fried prawns and vegetable for its taste and freshness.

That's all folks! (:
