The worldwide phenomenon of The Hunger Games continues to set the world on fire with The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1, which finds Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) in District 13 after she literally shatters the games forever. Under the leadership of President Coin (Julianne Moore) and the advice of her trusted friends, Katniss spreads her wings as she fights to save Peeta (Josh Hutcherson) and a nation moved by her courage. The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1 is directed by Francis Lawrence from a screenplay by Danny Strong and Peter Craig and produced by Nina Jacobson's Color Force in tandem with producer Jon Kilik. The novel on which the film is based is the third in a trilogy written by Suzanne Collins that has over 65 million copies in print in the U.S. alone.

Yesterday night, I have watched The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1 with my lovely poly mates after my church service and dinner. We caught this movie at the Cathay Cineplex. Previously, there was The Hunger Games and The Hunger Games - The Catching Fire.

Personally, I felt the show was decent though it could have been more refined. Initially, it started pretty slow and slightly draggy without much anticipation for me to carry on. The flow was slightly messy and dull at certain point.

As I continue watching, the story gets more exciting as it allow me to ponder what will exactly happen next. It was refreshing to see how - District 13 and Capitol strategies their plan for the attack. However, the climax injected was slightly weak to its minimum degree.

Kudos to both Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson acting capability as I thought they acted well! Though Josh Hutcherson have not many scenes to showcase, his minimal showtime certainly appeal me with his convincing act. Nice!

As compared, this installment wasn't as good as The Hunger Games - The Catching Fire in terms on its plot and flow. Nevertheless, it was a well-crafted plot development for the second part of this film. Anticipating for it as I think it will be certainly a good one!

Nam Da-jung is an innocent college student who is sent a mysterious note inviting her to join the reality show Liar Game, a psychological survival game wherein participants trick each other and the one who ultimately succeeds wins the prize money of ₩10 billion (US$9.3 million). Tempted with the chance to pay off her debts, Da-jung joins the game and gets conned out of the initial money given to her. In desperation, she asks genius ex-con swindler and former psychology professor Ha Woo-jin to help her win the game.

Liar Game (Korean Drama) is a remake of a Japanese drama of the same name. Previously, I have watched the Japanese version of season 1 & 2. Not to forget, the movie sequel - the final stage & reborn. Honestly, I like the show pretty much for its suspense and smart plot! Thus, I decided to catch Liar Game (Korean Drama) to make a comparison between the both.

Personally, I felt that this drama was pretty awesome! The plot was well-crafted and classic on its own. Though the initial episode lack substance; the climax was built up in further episode on its suspense, that make the story appealing. The hidden truth will make known towards the end to enlighten the viewers.

I do agree that the games were somewhat similar to the Japan version but it was as amazing. If you ask me which round of the game I adore most, it will be Russian Roulette and The President Game. I felt that both revised version of games kept me in great suspense. While watching, I got to be more involved in it as well.

The finale was decent though it could have been better as certain scenes appear to be rather predictable. Most likely, there will be a sequel! Am looking forward to it!

I have won an invite to HungryGoWhere first Instameet, held in partnership with Four Seasons Singapore last Wednesday evening!

The event took place at One-Ninety Wood-Fired Steaks and Seafood at 6.30pm. I got the honour to try the ground floor restaurant's new Mezze buffet dinner and cocktail pairings that night. (:

That night was my very first visit to One-Ninety Wood-Fired Steaks and Seafood. Honestly, I adore the ambiance of this fine dinning restaurant. The layout was posh and classic with dim lighting being used.

Mezze Buffet Dinner

An extensive and delectable array is available across the buffet and entrees selection, including entrees such as tajima wagyu, ahi tuna steak, red label organic salmon and more.

Mezze Buffet Lunch for buffet only - $39.00; buffet including one main selection - $49.00

The following below are some of the handcrafted food served on the Suar Wood buffet tables:

My favourite will be the lobster and the spread of desserts for one to savour and choose from. Besides that, you could a entrées with this buffet dinner. The following below are some that entrées you can consider:

Ahi Tuna Steak Sustainable Tuna Served Medium Rare

Red Label Organic Salmon “Tranche”

Baby Lamb Chops

I ordered baby lamb chops medium rare and it was nicely done. The texture of the meat was tender, well marinated and goes along pretty good with the sauce provided. It could been better if bigger portion was given to enjoy more of this dish. I tried the steak and the seafood grilled and it tasted quite good as well. The portion of the salmon was rather big though I thought that the texture could have been more refined. Thankfully, I ordered the dish that I thought it was the best among all.

Tried the 4 different cocktails there as well - Wasabi martini, kentucky breakfast, lemon drop and rum o cocktail, Personally, I like the lemon drop and rum o cocktail as it tasted not too flavourful and strong for my taste bud.

Remember to order their home-made bread and signature truffle foccacia because it tasted good! Their signature truffle foccacia was served warm and tasted crispy!

Am thankful and blessed to be part of this Instameet event! Thanks Hungrygowhere and Four Seasons Singapore for this opportunity. PTL! (:

With our time on Earth coming to an end, a team of explorers undertakes the most important mission in human history: traveling beyond this galaxy to discover whether mankind has a future among the stars.

Watched Interstella yesterday night after service with church pals. Personally, I felt that the story was interesting and pretty similar to inception. Alright, both show was directed by Christopher Nolan and that explains why.

Initially, this show started quite slow and slightly draggy for me though I do understand the purpose of that, giving viewers a better background. As the show goes on, I got glued to the screen to find out what will happen next.

It involved many scientific topic such as wormhole, black hole and gravitational time dilation. Thus, I will advise you to do some reading before watching it. Also, have an open mind while watching this film so that you could appreciate this film more. The flow could have been more refined towards the end as it ended quite abruptly for me.

It somewhat portrayed the importance of kinship as well which turn out quite touching. Certain humour elements were injected to lighten this overwhelming film a little. Overall, it is a nice Sci-fi to catch. And yup, "time is relative".

Dinner was at Sugisawa with church pals some time ago, recommended by Zhixin. This Japanese restaurant is located at Riverside view - Robertson Quay. The restaurant was rather spacious with good ambiance. However, it is advisable to make reservation before heading there.

The menu has a rather wide variety for consumer to choose from. However, it will be a wise choice to order their bento sets to avoid any disappointment.

I ordered Kaki Fry Bento Set which cost me $17+. As you can see, the presentation is nice with decent portion. The raw items such as the sashimi and prawn are served fresh with good texture. Kaki fry tasted good as it is not too.. flavourful for my taste bud. The texture was nicely done as well - Crispy on the outside yet tender inside.

Overall, this restaurant offers you an affordable and good bento sets!

Dinner was at To-gather cafe with Danny few months ago. The cafe is not spacious however it was cosy with good ambiance.

Danny ordered Italian Herb Crusted Fish & Chips while I had Pork Cordon Bleu and Butterscotch Café Latte. Personally, I prefer his Fish & chips as the breaded fish fillet was nicely fried - Crispy on the outside with its tender meat inside. The Pork Cordon Bleu tasted decent though I felt that texture could have been better. Also, the cheese somewhat did not do much justice as the taste was overshadowed by the ham.

Chocolate and Matcha Lava Cake tasted equally good. It was served warm. However, the thick chocolate and matcha within did not exactly flow out smoothly. Its still worth ordering these desserts when you visit his cafe. Most likely, I will try their pasta for my next visit.

Overall, the portion is decent and it is a good for value place to chill and hang out with friends! (:

Had Wingstop for dinner few months ago. I got the classic wings individual combo meal. The 2 flavours that I chose was garlic parmesan and original hot.

Personally, I am not a person who can take very spicy stuff thus I thought that the original hot was kinda spicy for my taste bud. The sauce tasted alright but not quite appetizing for me. On the other hand, I enjoyed the garlic parmesan pretty much as it was rich in flavour and crispy - my favourite in the list I suppose. The potato salad tasted pretty good too.

I guess the next visit I will try the lemon pepper flavour as one of my choice.

A martial arts instructor from the police force gets imprisoned after killing a man by accident. But when a vicious killer starts targeting martial arts masters, the instructor offers to help the police in return for his freedom.

Finished watching Kung Fu Jungle 一個人的武林. Personally, I felt that the story was normal and rather weak. Initially, I was pretty excited to watch on and ponder further on its plot as the suspense injected was good. However, the climax just dropped to a degree which was disappointing.

Though the flow was decent, the plot could have been better as it lack substance. Nevertheless, I have to agree that much effort was put forth in the fight choreography; It was splendid and was an eye-opener.

Overall, a decent action-pack film. However, if you are looking for a more solid plot, I think you may find this a so-so film.

Had this Curry Fish head with mum at Heng Heng Curry Cafe (Marina Square) few months ago. The restaurant is rather spacious with good ambiance. On a side note, the service was rather slow as it took quite awhile to arrive. Thus, it will be good if the food could be served faster.

Personally, I felt that the curry is flavourful and appetizing, tasted like Assam curry - well blended with a tangy-fruity taste. However, it could have been better if the fish meat was more tender for better dining experience. Nevertheless, a dish worth trying. Glad that the restaurant is not stingy on the vegetables provided as shown in the picture as well.

If you want a good fix of Curry Fish Head, you can consider to drop by this cafe and satisfy your craving. (:

Day Trip to Madame Tussauds Singapore with Danny and Weiren! (:

Saturday, November 8

April, 1945. As the Allies make their final push in the European Theatre, a battle-hardened army sergeant named Wardaddy (Brad Pitt) commands a Sherman tank and her five-man crew on a deadly mission behind enemy lines. Outnumbered and outgunned, and with a rookie soldier thrust into their platoon, Wardaddy and his men face overwhelming odds in their heroic attempts to strike at the heart of Nazi Germany.

Watched Fury with Gary and Jiewei yesterday evening at Johor Bahru City Square Cathay Cineplex. Personally, I felt that the story was direct with a rather good plot. However, the slow dialogues somewhat pulled down the show slightly.

While watching, you get to see different personality of soldiers introduced and at the same time highlighted on their struggles faced during war. I thought that the emotions put forth was splendid. It also felt as though you are the manager of this particular war game; managing the whole situation.

To be honest, I was expecting more for the tank battle. The climax of it just hit to a certain degree which was good though not impactful enough for me. Nevertheless, a decent war movie to catch!

What do women in their 30s want? They don’t want to make compromises in their lives. When they hit bumps in the road on their way to happiness, they want their closest friends beside them. When Wen Qi (Hong Xiao Ling) decides to end her failure of a marriage, she takes her two best friends, Zhi Qin (Albee Huang) and Wan Ting (Li Wei Wei), on a getaway to Macau to help her lick her wounds. There, they run into a trio of handsome men (Darren Qiu, Danson Tang and Chang Han) who may or may not restore their faith in love and romance.

Finally finished watching Fabulous 30 女人30情定水舞间! It have been awhile since I watched Taiwan Idol watching. However, decided to catch this series because Danson Tang and Albee Huang were both the main cast - Favourite celebrity in my list. Also, I heard rather good review from Danny.

Personally, I thought that this drama has a good story-line which educated me different aspects of life. It helped me ponder further certain issues relating kinship, relationship and work related matters. Honestly, I think I did learned a lot from it.

A total of 76 episodes may appear rather draggy but I have to agree that the content was rich and well-crafted. The cast did quite a fabulous job in portraying their individual roles as well. One thing I have to mentioned, I thought that Albee Huang acting capability improved tremendously. Hopefully, she did get some award soon. The others did reasonably good too.

Overall, I liked this drama pretty much. It is not a typical Taiwan drama that I have watched previously.

Decided to visit this cafe since I'm around the vicinity few months ago. The place was cosy and homely. Ordered Sweet Piglet & Rose Cafe Latte to satisfy my tummy.

Personally, the Sweet Piglet Sandwich tasted pretty decent though I felt that the texture of the sandwich could be improved. Rather interesting to have a blend of bacon, banana and peanut butter combination which tasted good. Rose Latte tasted reasonably good though I would prefer it to be more hot when served.

Ainosuke assumes that the images might be clues to his brother's death and starts an investigation with the help of his junior high school nurse Sayama Hitomi. But just when their probe begins, an unidentified criminal organization appears to disrupt their investigation...

Finished watching this drama Hidarime Tantei EYE. Personally, I thought that the story plot was well-crafted though the flow presented was alittle weak. However, in terms of its suspense, this drama scores well.

In each episode, different mysterious criminal cases were presented. Coincidentally, each of it was connected to one another which make this drama a more interesting one. Towards the end, the hidden truth was revealed and that was when the puzzle was piece up together.

I shall not share much because I will be a spoiler if I continue to write more about it. Overall, it is one of the better thriller drama series I have watched thus far.
